LocaleAndEventTags

Page history last edited by maymay 11 years, 12 months ago

Each KinkForAll unconference adopts a succinct event tag that uniquely identifies it within the KinkForAll ecosystem. You can think of an event tag like a token: when you search the Internet for a KinkForAll event tag, you're shown the videos, audio, and other media created at that event. You can also use these tags at the start of the subject lines in emails to the KinkForAll mailing list in order to help keep your inbox tidy.

The event tag is derived from an abbreviation of the locale where the event was held and the number of events held in that locale.

Composing a new tag

If you don't see your locality in the existing tag list on this page, you may need to create a new tag for your locality. Composing a new tag can be as simple as claiming an unused abbreviation that makes sense for your area. Is there an oft-used acronym for your city or region? If so, consider using that.

In some cases, the tag you wish to use may already be claimed by a different locale, as shown in the list on this page. If so, here are alternative suggestions for composing your locale's tag:

  • Use the nearest well-known airport's three-letter airport code. World-Airport-Codes.com maintains a database that may be useful to you.
