Page tags can be used to filter and sort pages that are similar to one another. For tags to be genuinely useful, there must be a standardized set of well known tags that a wiki uses, each with an explicitly defined purpose. This page lists the page tags used in the KinkForAll wiki, and explains how to use them effectively.
We encourage everyone to use tags liberally. Over time, when gardening the wiki, editors will organize each page according to the conventional list described below. This list will also grow slowly, according to need, over time. To suggest a new tag, simply add it to any page on this wiki. It will appear in the list of all used tags and a wiki editor will eventually add it to this list if it is deemed appropriate.
List of page tags
Each canonical page tag is described under its headline, below. (Please keep them sorted alphabetically. Thanks!)
deprecated
The deprecated tag is used to mark pages that no longer contain any current information, nor any information deemed valuable to keep archived. Deprecated pages are pages that are effectively queued for deletion.
event
The event tag identifies wiki pages that are local KinkForAll event homepages. See also KinkForAllLocation for a template of such an event homepage.
howto
The howto tag identifies wiki pages that provide instructions about how to accomplish a specific task, such as signing up for a local KinkForAll event, or a more general goal, such as participating in the KinkForAll community. "How to" pages should begin with a title like "HowTo", although they may also be titled differently.
meta
The meta tag is used to mark pages about the KinkForAll wiki or process itself. Such "meta" pages are distinct from other pages in that they provide an additional level of guidance for people who are eager to actively participate in the KinkForAll community, such as wiki editors, KinkForAll unorganizers, and so on, while other (non-meta) pages are pages that support real-world collaboration (such as event Inventory pages, like KinkForAllNewYorkCityInventory).
stub
The stub tag is used to mark pages which are lacking enough information to be significantly useful. Stub pages should be expanded as soon as possible, or be merged into relevant existing pages.
template
The template tag identifies wiki pages that are templates for new pages. Do not use these pages directly, but instead create new pages from them. Learn more about how to use templates.
